Documentation

Welcome to sobarch's documentation. The name comes from the Korean sobak (소박, simple) fused with arch, and doubles as "sober arch": a plain, reproducible take on Arch Linux and Hyprland, without the ceremony.

Where to start

  • Installing: the getting-started and installer sections walk through the install, disk layout, snapshots, rescue media, and software profiles.
  • Using the desktop: the desktop and shell sections cover the menu system, keybindings, theming, and keeping your config up to date.
  • Packages: how AUR and custom packages are vendored, built, and updated without an AUR helper.
  • Reference: the security baseline, the sobarch command (under Desktop), where files and logs live, troubleshooting, and the FAQ.
